Sorbet Moves

(thrifted chambray shirt and shoes, Old Navy tank, Gap khakis, Nine West crossbody)

The temperatures this weekend were on the warmer side and it felt glorious. Yesterday I was feeling a little color happy and decided to take two of my newest wardrobe additions both in an orange sorbet color and go the matchy-matchy route. I am loving the whole pastel trend going on so I've been trying to add more of the light toned colors into my closet though more color in general for spring/summer are being welcomed as well. I'm pretty sure a year ago I would never have chosen to wear such a color like that of an orange hue since I enjoyed playing it safe in my favorite neutrals like gray or white, but sometimes it's good to instill some change especially when color is making big moves lately and bringing constant inspiration.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Greener Pastures

(thrifted chambray shirt & flats , UO Rubik's Cube tee, Old Navy jeans, Dooney & Burke satchel)

I've been feeling a little under the weather lately. I was literally surrounded by tissues this weekend. I don't know if it was due to allergies or a cold, but I am glad that I'm nearly back to my healthy self again. I do hate feeling sick, which I'm sure we all do when it happens. I'm currently trying to catch up on things so here are some photos from last Sunday. My sister and I were driving through an area when we came across this huge stretch of bare land. It was full of lush green grass, some trees and a few benches. It was a beautiful sight to see and such a sweet little discovery. There's something about seeing nature at its purest form that gets to me. I guess I have a soft spot for it. Maybe it brings out my inner flower child, possibly? You never know!

Hope you have a great week!

Between Cars

(thrifted chambray shirt, Thakoon for Target skirt, Target tights, Dolce Vita for Target boots, Dooney & Burke satchel)

I had a very busy and exhausting week so I was glad when the weekend finally rolled around. I spent my Saturday afternoon with my sister to see our favorite guys a.k.a favorite band, Honor Society, make an appearance at the mall to promote them as one of the five finalists in Macy's iHeartRadio Rising Star contest. Let me repeat that these four guys are a band and not a boyband. They do play instruments so I always like to clarify that for everyone. They are also a hard working band with amazing personalities and great music so I'm truly happy to continue supporting and being proud of their achievements for three years now. Seriously, they are simply wonderful people!

As for my outfit, my sister took some quick shots in the mall parking lot between cars we parked by. These days it's nearly impossible to find me without a button up shirt and chambray ones happen to be my personal fave. I had a hard time figuring what to pair with my top so my sister advised me to wear this brightly printed Thakoon for Target skirt that I had not worn in forever. She picked a winner and I loved the flirty yet understated vibe I had going on for the day.

Have a great week!
xoxo

P.S. - Shameless promotion: If you have a chance check out Honor Society and vote for them here for the iHeartRadio contest.

Rebellious Gals

I don't stick to one particular style. I like to think that I wear whatever fits my mood. One style I am a fan of is a play on the schoolgirl look. In Nasty Gal's latest lookbook, they style models in the good girls gone bad vibe wearing vintage pieces that have just hit the store online. These gals are ready to strut the hallways in looks that may be questionable to the eyes of teachers and school officials, but you know what they don't care and are not afraid to rebel against the dress code. I love the mix of sweet with tough since opposites tend to attract after all. The varsity and leather jackets make me yearn to play with the girly and rocker pieces in my wardrobe so I may have to do just that real soon.

Well here's to a brand new week. I hope you all have a good one.

Neutral Ground

(Target boater hat, Old Navy blouse, F21 necklace, H&M pants, thrifted flats, Nine West crossbody bag)

I headed out to the grocery store on Saturday morning to pick up a few things. Instead of making a stop somewhere between home and the quick trip to take outfit photos, my sister and I decided to use the backyard as a backdrop. Usually I would object to this idea, but with the weather being so nice lately and the grass much greener since spring's start, I had to finally cave in. I'm wearing neutrals as usual since most of my wardrobe consists of go-to basic pieces and also this awesome boater hat for the first time. I have to say that I am so in love with this boater hat because it adds a bit of quirk to any look, which makes me excited to style it with dresses once it's warmer out.

Have a great week!
